BEd (Hons) with QTS in English Literature with Education
My Story
Following my graduation from Cambridge University where I specialised in English Literature with Education, I went on to teach a wide range of subjects in various primary schools, both in the state and independent sector. I have also been Head of Year in a number of different year groups.
As the end of my maternity leave was timed somewhat imperfectly with the start of the pandemic, I found myself in an interesting situation! Never one to shy away from a challenge, I used this as an opportunity to set up Online Primary Tuition. Since then, I have helped children to obtain academic scholarships and secure places in a number of top independent and grammar schools across Hertfordshire and London, namely UCS, Haberdashers’ Schools, Haileybury, King’s College School, St Albans and Dame Alice Owens to name but a few.
I am a highly qualified and experienced teacher with vast experience of the 7+, 8+ and 11+ entry requirements. I tutor children worldwide to prepare them for the ISEB Pre-Test and for UK school entrance exams. I also tutor children who may just need a little confidence boost or simply to fill in gaps in their learning.
Tutoring Approach
At Online Primary Tuition, our lessons are based online only and my Enhanced DBS certificate is registered on the Update Service. I am also trained in Safeguarding and take every opportunity to keep my skills up to date. I will work closely with you to focus on your child’s specific targets. This will in turn ensure that they excel academically and develop a fearless attitude towards learning. By tailoring our lessons to students’ individual needs and focusing on positive language, I have been able to build great relationships with my students over the years, which has in turn led to amazing results.

When I'm not engaged in tutoring or editing, you'll often find me exploring the globe with my family. I firmly believe in seizing the educational possibilities our world has to offer and I'm dedicated to instilling this passion in my boys, as well as my students, whenever and wherever we travel.
Services Offered
At Online Primary Tuition, our lessons can be taught on a one-to-one basis, in pairs or with small groups of children. Subjects taught are generally English, mathematics, verbal reasoning and non verbal reasoning, however as an experienced, qualified primary school teacher, I can teach a wide variety of subjects. Extra services such as marking past papers, intensive revision courses and mock interviews are also offered.
Not only am I dedicated to providing online tutoring services, but I also work as a freelance editor for various educational publishers. This dual role ensures that I remain at the forefront of the ever-evolving landscape of education.
