Benefits Of Online Tutoring Vs Face to Face Tutoring

Let’s be honest…. I had my doubts about online tutoring. As a class teacher, I had always been used to interacting face to face and couldn’t imagine teaching online. Before Covid 19, I had thought about online tutoring as a way of working and being able to travel the world with my family. Would I have actually taken the plunge and tried it? Maybe not, but then following the closure of schools, my decision was made. I took my first tentative steps into the world of online tutoring at the beginning of Lockdown in the UK. The benefits of online tutoring versus face to face tutoring could no longer be ignored.

Now, as an online tutor to a range of students across the world, it may not come as a surprise that I believe the benefits of online tutoring far outweigh any possible disadvantages. Here are some reasons why.

1. Online tuition makes things much more convenient for parents and children

Online tutoring takes place in the family home, meaning there is no travelling. It’s simply focused on the task in hand.

2. You get a greater range of top quality tutors online who are all carefully selected so the quality remains high

Look for an online tutoring provider with a rigorous selection process or a qualified teacher with an updated DBS. This means that your child will be getting the best-quality tuition that they possibly can and you can avoid trawling through the vast pool of under qualified ‘tutors’ who set themselves up with few qualifications or credentials.

3. Online tutoring means online learning which is fun and engaging

As a parent you’ll already know how hard it can be to persuade a child to do their homework, let alone complete another whole lesson after school. Online lessons mean that each and every lesson can be tailored to the individual child.

4. Online tutoring is often cheaper than face to face tutoring

Thanks to the overheads being lower and elements like travel costs being taken out of the equation, online tutoring has the benefit of being competitively priced and can be a great option for parents who want a quality service that won’t break the bank.

5. Online tuition is safe and secure

Each session will take place in the comfort of your own home, which means that not only will your child feel safe in a familiar environment, but you will also be able to keep an eye on what is going on.

6. Online tutoring helps improve your child’s technology skills

Another advantage of online tutoring is that it can give them another great place to practise their all-important digital skills.
